Linda & Vernon Wragg
Vernon
I have been working at the shop since I left school at 16 in the early 60’s. Spending much of my time travelling the width and breadth of Britain searching for fine antiques. Alongside the antiques, I also have great passion for more classic modern design and architecture.
Sadly my days of driving the van down to auction sales in London and the south coast have come to an end, also my seat in the director’s chair has been taken by Helen & Vicky, and I am now relegated to tea boy!
Over the last 60 years or so I have seen many changes in the business and it is with great pride to see my daughters take on the mantle for the next exciting era.
Linda
Over 40 years ago I began working alongside my husband Vernon in the family business. I trained as a nurse in my teens before we met and married in 1973, Helen came along in 1976 followed by Vicky three years later. As ‘mum’ my place has always been more practical in the business so I became a wife, shop owner and Jack of all trades!
Life was never dull, the girls grew up in the business, meeting and greeting customers surrounded by furniture and beautiful artifacts. It stood them in good stead, and little has changed as the shop still displays the best of what we can find!
My life although still hectic has changed a wee bit, I play golf regularly and love spending time in my art room at home. I am also a doting nanny to Charlie, Leonie & Edie. I love to still visit the shop and see what a fabulous success our girls are making of their era in charge of the family business!
